Here's a shot of what Santa brought this year, and a close up of the 54-s RPM, a very cool, extreme RPM. A big thank you to Santa for the generous gift! The Barber will fill the spot in my album, along with the lg. cent (both albums I've been neglecting and has inspired me to dig back into them). The 1960 DDR and 59-D DDO are both better examples than the existing ones I have, and the 54-S RPM-003 is one I do not have! And can't go wrong with a Shield nickel and a great looking Merc! Icing on the cake was a thoughtful card as well. So another big thank you, and Merry Christmas to whomever my Santa was!

Well you can take me off the list we checked the mail today (did not do it yesterday) and I had a package. Got home and open it right away and couldn't see a thing every thing was covered in condensation and cold had to let them warm up. So the first thing I saw was a purple box with American Eagle written on it. Inside that was a purple clam shell case but on top of the clam shell where 2 more coins, inside that was a 1986 ASE. Ok so the 2 coins turned out to be Canadian medals one from 1927 and 1939. Also got a Chicago CD with 25 Christmas songs on it, Plus a very nice Christmas card. My camera is set up for coin pics not group shots. Couldn't get the true luster of this coin. I would like to thank my Secret Santa ( he told me who he was not sure if I should say his name here)very much the ASE is a very nice addition to me US collection.

I received my secret santa package in the mail yesterday. I say it's an ideal gift for a nickelsearcher, three MS nickels. Many thanks to my secret santa for a thoughtful gift.

The gifts Secret Santa sent me this year. I will need to research these. 1900 and 1901 Canadian cents. Are these considered large cents? Then a 1945 Newfoundland 5 cent piece And lastly, a one cent error - blank planchette Thank you Santa. And thank you rggoodie for organizing again this year. Hope Mrs. Clause is feeling better these days.

@88isgreat,they are large cents and seem to be in good shape from what I can see from your photos. The newfoundland 5¢ is a nice little silver piece, the newfoundland silver coins from that time frame are under looked at the moment considering mintages and I recently have gotten a bit more into then I still don't have a blank planchette I still don't have one but plan to purchase one in the future. A very nice gift:)

That's a great haul. I especially like that Newfoundland coin. Not only is it silver but its some nice history there. They didn't join Canada till 1949. The last province to join if I remember correctly.

Thanks @wrekkdd and @jeffbuckes. Always interesting to learn about coins that are not part of your primary collecting area. Usually end up learning some history at the same time.

Forgot to say that the Elf took my wee package yesterday and it is on its way to the other side of the country!
The elf and I are hopeful that the receiver would enjoy the surprise especially its metal content.
Yet, Santa simply said hohoho and assured that any gift is considered a blessing for it comes from the spirit of holiday and one's heart.
Cheers!

Quote: Quote: Christmas should be about us all coming together and counting our blessings, that we are alive, healthy collecting coins and communing with each other all over the world. Quoted for Truth! I wholeheartedly agree with this and the sentiments. I think Secret Santa is a wonderful idea for us to get together and doing something festive to enjoy the holiday! All of us try our best to find right gifts for our members, some are known to us and others not, that does not stop us from trying to gift the member. Please go forward and enjoy the fun of giving! It does not have to be expensive or correct, just share what you think other person might like or learn something out of it. I do hope all of us remember our Christmas memories of presents, that did make you happy or disappointed. Preferably on happy side! I am sure some of us got an ugly jumper or sweater as a gift. Does that mean a person is bad at giving? Naw. It just means he or she probably thought it was a perfect gift, theme or not. So, please have fun and be festive!! Or should I say merry? That reminds me to get another wee packet out to a kind soul! Let's have a great holiday together! On separate note, I am pleased to hear that our Secret Santa's wife is doing well and is recovering from her surgery. Happy that things are turning out well!
