Thank you Secret Santa. These are the only coins I got this year. Take me off the list please. My gift arrived, and boy was it packaged well. Just like opening up a maze, in a maze, in a maze. The strategy was awesome and everything arrived undamaged. I had a blast opening it up. 1st up....3 large cents. 1 of each monarch. OK you large cent collectors...what's up with the "E" in cent on the 1907? I may have some research to do. 2 BU Commemorative toonies. 2 pristine $1 notes in sequence. And keeping with the Christmas spirit, a 2006 Ho! Ho! Ho! 7 coin gift set. It was nice to see the cent and 50 cent in a set again. Secret Santa said..."hope you enjoy". Rest assured, I do and will. Thank you Secret Santa. Thank you for hosting again Santa. All the best to Mrs. Claus. Can't wait until next year.

Very nice gift loonielewy, your Santa probably checked but make sure the 2006 cent is magnetic.
I'm hoping my recipient is doing well, it appears they gave been off since before Christmas.

Quote: Got a set of silver half dollars. I'm pleased you enjoy them. My thinking was a 4-coin 20th century silver type set of half dollars, hence the 1964 Kennedy as the only 90% silver issue of that series. Big thanks to Santa for hosting and making all of this possible. This is my first time and I'll definitely be participating again next year.

I received my gift today along with a nice note from my Secret Santa. I've always wanted to add one of these US fractional notes to my collection so this was a very nice surprise! Thank you to whoever sent it, it will have a permanent home in my collection!

@ mrpapageorgio, excellent group of half dollar coins! Silver is always a bonus!!! I particularly like Franklin half dollar as Franklin was the only person that is not US President on the coin until SBA dollar and Sacgewana (sp?) dollar coin for the long time. @ loonielewy, lovely examples of Canadian cent with three different monarchs in a short period! Canada continued with a large cent for much longer than in the USA. I often wondered why about this. I am not sure if the letter "E" on three coins have significant meaning to them? My first thought would be a wear from the circulation? I particularly like how Canada present their coin set! $1 bills are lovely as well! It also makes me wonder how many bills are out in the wild that the Bank of Canada have not collected? @ Canadian-Banknotes, that is a wonderful specimen of a US fractional currency note. Was it very common in the circulation back then or was it limited in circulation? I would say all of you are definitely good guys on Santa's good list!!! :) Looking forward to more posts in the coming days! As to the post on whether the country is Asia or Europe? I love the responses that follows after that! It is interesting to note that this is one of many factors that EU is having a difficult time with for many years. Different perspectives and historical and cultural backgrounds showed through our conversations and it does make one wonder if that is why we still have problems today? No offence to a beautiful country or its people! I would love to visit there one day!! I am just happy to see this because we have to acknowledge there always would be issues which affect the coinage or banknotes. I do hope the country will survive the current Presidency. Maybe we can ask Santa to fix that for us? :)

Quote: makes me wonder how many bills are out in the wild that the Bank of Canada have not collected? I would imagine the Canadian One Dollar bill is one of the most hoarded currencies ever! I can remember when it was announced they'd no longer be made anymore, everyone held onto them like crazy. Same then with the $2 bill. Just imagine if the US suddenly made such an announcement! I have a few salted away in my collection somewhere.

I am happy that Secret Santa benefit you in many ways! You can hit me up if you want a chat or two! I might be slow but would be delighted to chat with you. As for me, CCF is a way for me to learn more about my hobby and Secret Santa is my way of learning what tickles our fellow collectors to share their hobby with others. Many Secret Santas here amazes me all the times. They certainly know how to put merry/happy in Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
