This was used at our cafe today. Never saw one like this. It has a blue seal and very light right side of the bill, as if it's missing a run of color. I didn't know where to find out any info about this so I'm hoping someone could help me. Thank you!
Your bill did not come from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing this way. The color was affected by the bill being exposed to some type of chemical and that reaction is what altered it.
It's my understanding that some enzyme-based laundry detergents can cause ink colours on banknotes to change in odd, unpredictable ways - like making the serial numbers and seals change colour and leave everything else the same. In this case, with half the note bleached white, I'd suspect actual bleach to be the culprit.
