1927 S Nickel 2 Feather - Coin Community Forum

sheldius Pillar of the Community United States 1204 Posts	Posted 11/05/2021 11:29 pm The 1927 S are not considered a true 2 feather among some purists, but the PCG will holder then as such. Both dies have some of the 3rd feather still visible. I took a chance on this one at $4.50, and the scratch makes the 3rd feather look more pronounced than it is. But I think it matches the second die shown in Pope's book. Last image is comparing the worn 27D and 27P 3rd feathers that also came in the lot. Die 1 has more separation shown from the 2nd feather, die 2 had more separation from the hair/neckline. Going to have to up my game Report this Post to the Staff
