^^Columbo was in homicide. Maybe call in Joe Friday, he worked in all divisions.

"My partner's Bill Gannon. My name's Friday. We were working the day watch out of small cent robbery division when we got a call from Cons. One of his coin books mysteriously disappeared..."

Stuff like that drives me crazy. I'm more than a bit paranoid about keeping things organized and properly filed away, but that leads to me reorganizing in new ways that I think is "better". This, in turn, leads to me losing things. Sometimes for years . They almost always eventually turn up, and then I have the inevitable "NOW I remember why I put it there!" moment...

Kidnap any suspects in the middle of the night...
Use blindfolds...
Bring them all to a *spooky* warehouse...
Interrogate them, and shine a flashlight in their face until somebody confesses...
Punish the thief by having them roll up coins before you bring them to the bank...

* = very important

If I lose a coin book, it usually turns up under my cat!

Seriously, though, I do hope you find it!

Man-O-man isn't that the truth. In the middle of some of those right now.

There is this scientific possibility of other dimensions. It happens when you sometimes drop something and it simply vanishes. It simply jumped into a different dimension. However, to keep the Universe in sync something from that dimension has replaced it. Look around for something that wasn't there before. However, in most instances universal balances will require your original item to return. BUT it is necessary for you to make sure what you found that was not there before is returned to that same place. This will allow the interdimesional transfer to replay.
