Good morning community. I have been trying different methods of taking pictures of coins and using photo for education. Well on several occasions my photos posted have been to dark, blurry, not sharp etc. Heres a 1965 quarter. The pictures may not be quality. Yet look at the words America b the leaves and E pluribus unum. Why the white lines above and to the sides. Hard to explain because of my knowledge of terms used in the numinastics industry. Well hope you can help.

But what I can see looks like Machine Doubling. Note how the devices contour is flattened and the affected areas are reduced in size. Machine Doubling is seen on the outside/inside edges of devices. Spread on a doubled die is seen in the centers of the devices. I hope you get some better images of your coin. This is probably one of the most extreme Machine Doubling I've seen.
On this image you can see how much the contour was removed from the devices with a coloring of the flattened alteration by the machine after the strike.

Here is a DDR on the same area on your last image of the EPU area on DDR on a quarter.

Look at how much larger the spread is on a strong doubled die. Spread is seen on the centers of the devices. The outside/inside edges is where you find Machine Doubling.

If you upload new photos, be sure to add them here in this post, do not create a new thread for the same coin. FYI.
