I found these two nickels in circulation.
Coin photo B has very odd shaped lettering and almost looks doubled in places, maybe lots of grease when struck?
Coin photo A is flat in spots and is thinner than a standard nickel as you can see in the top of that photo.
Any ideas from you more experienced error detectives?
Thanks

The last image looks like a bad case of extreme die wear. Note shape looks mushy. That is caused by extreme die wear. This era has many example of extreme die wear. The over use of a die will show on the coins with devices that look like your last coin.

Strong doubled dies on nickels don't get anywhere near that large on a DDR. So look at examples of DDR's on the sites and see what to look for on a DDR nickel.

A fellow searcher thought they had found a DDR, but note the images I posted below of a Proof nickel on the line above. Note the locations of the DDRs. The shape of what a DDR nickel will look like. Best way to find a doubled die is to search to see what is listed. That way you have a better clue as to what to look for on these. Always remember that the Machine Doubling is seen on the outside edges of devices, and a mushy look is always extreme die wear. Hope this helps with your searching.

Coin A looks like the rims have been ground down either intentionally or accidentally.
Coin B is suffering from Die Deterioration along with a Ridge Ring.

Coin 'B' was struck before ridge rings could happen. The Ridge rings are seen on the zincolns. (cents) Not on nickels.
