I posted this coin last night, on another group, someone pointed out there was an S mintmark to the right of the E die clash. I could not find an attribution--thoughts?

If it came off the die, it would have to be raised like all the other devices. If it is level with the surface or incuse into the coin, then it was added after a strike or is a stain. Or:

That is a pretty convincing letter S @shan, but I agree with @coop that it must be something else other than a wildly misplaced OMM. It looks a bit too small to be a dropped letter, so yes it must be just weirdness and pereidolia.

the S isn't there, no mint error, just post mint damage/pareidolia.

And, that 's' appears to be a tad smaller that the font size used for cent mint marks.

If one looks closely at the mid-point in Abe's jaw, there is a tiny O. Then, there's the starfish on Abe's cheek.

Not an S MM, I rotated coin under light and examined with a 6x loupe and the MM like feature disappears at all positions but the one I used to take the pic! Thank you for the feedback and helping me save time and resources.
