A New Zealand 1 Shilling. This appears to be Spanish, judging by King Franco on the coin, but I don't recall Spain ever using cents? Or does 'CTS' mean something else? Report this Post to the Staff

Kreuzer Valued Member Spain 58 Posts	Posted 01/27/2009 11:17 am You are right, the third coin is from Spain. Cents were used in Spain until inflation sank the peseta value. And, please, Franco was not a king. He was a dictator during too many years (1939-1975). Report this Post to the Staff

It sounds terrific, isn´t it? Well, last 50 cents coin was produced in 1980, but it was nearly used by then. Spanish economy is traditionally weak, so we suffer badly in global crisis. After oil crisis in 1973, inflation climbed up to 20% . In 80´s coin was devaluated a couple of times.
