If this coin is genuine (looks rather clean to me but I don't know anything about them), does anyone have an idea as to grade please?
(I have posted this specifically in the grading forum as well but you can always have a stab here).
Main question: is it real?

It looks real, common date and common condition. Not unless you can feel it is very light in weight?

I agree it's real, could have been cleaned at some time.

I should point out, because it may not be obvious at first glance, that this is a coin from the Spanish Philippines, not from mainland Spain. The denomination is the indicator: "peso" was used in the colonies, when mainland Spain used the "peseta". In Spain and the Philippines, the minor denomination was apparently known as the centimo, rather than the centavo, so this is really a 50 centimo coin.

I should also point out that if you're relying on the 4th edition of the 19th century Krause, these coins were erroneously omitted.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

I just hate errors like that. They should have given me a special discount for it. As I bought it especially for the Spanish Philippines.
