I would love to list the names of those that took time to go above and beyond to teach me but I am nervous and may miss someone and that is unacceptable. So I will say you know who you are and I appreciate you. Now, could one of you kind experts confirm if the DDO version on the accented hair proof has only 3 of the 4 markers and actually has a "sheriff" on the lower left of the "I?" I only have the other 3 present. Or so I think but I am the first to admit how green I am. I feel good about this one though. Fingers crossed. Here goes! Report this Post to the Staff

BigSilver Pillar of the Community United States 2843 Posts	Posted 01/30/2022 12:30 am The reverse markers for the AH are NOT conclusive. That reverse type was used with both obverse types. It only works the other way. If it has the other reverse, it cannot be the AH. If it has the serif, it is not AH. Sorry. Report this Post to the Staff
Kwang New Member United States 24 Posts	Posted 01/30/2022 09:08 am I trust you guys here and that is why I come seeking knowledge. BigSilver please do not take these questions as an arguement. I obviously would rather it was an accented hair, who wouldn't? but most imoportantly I want to learn. That is a lot of hair to be the regular version but putting that to the side for a moment. When a coin is a doubled die is there a misalignment in the dies that causes it? Meaning would it be the same one with the missing I serif or a different one? And by saying that it must have the missing "I" serif or it isn't AH disregarding any possible Machine Doubling, ejection doubling, or striking a planchet or something? Are those not within the possibilities? Please, again, I don't write about anything I know, I just seek all the knowledge I can get so I cherry pick with confidence in the future. And if anyone can help me, what is causing these things to be doubled? Report this Post to the Staff
atrox001 Valued Member United States 311 Posts	Posted 01/30/2022 11:33 am The accented hair attribution is very simple...If the bottom left serif on the I of LIBERTY is missing it is the accented hair (ODV-001). If the I in LIBERTY has the bottom left serif (ODV-002) it is not the accented hair variety regardless of anything on the reverse or anywhere else. Report this Post to the Staff
