Just for reference, today's exchange rate: More puzzling is what the seller would bring to the bank after the sale (minus those fees): I don't get this, unless the bank wouldn't take this money in the first place.

There are many strategies when selling on E-BAY.If this was my auction the starting bid would have been face value. This was this sellers first ebay item as a seller. After all the commissions they should have gone to the casino.

I notice the seller doesn't have anything else for sale right now ... a little discouraged perhaps?!

His last auction wasn't exactly a stellar success either. Perhaps a better description (with an accurate grade) and better photos would have helped...

Ouch.
That's what happens when you put a minimum bid on thngs that is below the real value, I guess. Definitely s spectacular goof-up. The problem was that anyone can get these notes at face anywhere.
Counterfeit? Now way, not with the hologram strips on them.

Quote:The problem was that anyone can get these notes at face anywhere. Indeed, but I would have expected these to have sold for a small premium above face value. Its the consecutive serial numbers that was suppose to be the buyers magnet.

Yeah, and you know, I don't get it. I could understand the lure of consecutive serial numbers on bills from series that have been withdrawn, but on these, that's nothing. I can go to the bank anytime, and as long as they have a bundle of bills that came directly from the Bank of Canada, they will all be in sequence. Sequential bills for current series are no big deal.

Just to re-iterate I dont collect paper currency, so I was only taking a shot at it.I do know the numbering is one of the key factors for the collectors. On another note, I'd like to chum up to someone that was capable of walking into a bank and request a bundle of 100's and do his searching. How many is in a bundle anyway...100? I don't get that listing and have decided to discontinue trying to figure it out.
