1979 D Possible Double Die Reverse

Hello again everyone! I really appreciate the information in the past posts. I'm learning new things constantly.

For this post, I have never been able to make head or tails of double die versus Machine Doubling. I guess as far as I can gather double die is more raised where MD is flat. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Well I found this coin that I was wondering if it is a DDR. I figured this is the best place to check it out. Look at most of the letters especially STATES. What do you think?
