Hm, this is actually a tough call. A lot of these Philadelphia minted proof Jeffersons look quite similar to business strikes in impaired condition, but I'm going to guess this is actually a proof based on the fields having more polish than I would expect on a business strike and the steps of the monticello building being very unusually square for a 50s business strike.

Can we get some better photos?

The obverse rim is chewed up . Not a proof .

Very nice business strike. I do not have the time now to take an example of the 59 proof. It is a business and very nice find also.

Proofs back then had mirrored fields and a Frosted Cameo on the fresher die states:

The double strike makes the device pop more than a business strike coin.

Just toning on the coin. In a sulfur atmosphere, the metals turn that color.

Thanks COOP, this I want to hear. So the poly they use have Sulfur. I have a lot and I do not broke. I will do the test in my lab and come back with the results, maybe could be interesting.

I think I was thinking of the proof cent there.
But I still think that this nickel is just a business strike.
