Okay give it your best shot. PCGS has already passed judgement. There are no hidden scratches or marks, what you see is what you get. Edited by grospoisson 03/21/2022 6:14 pm

I'll say MS-67RD, but obverse pic has a lot of glare.

Quote: I'll say MS-67RD, but obverse pic has a lot of glare. Totally agree way to much glare. Hadn't figure out how to take better pics yet. I will tell you this. Under the glare is just like the section without the glare. Not a tick, not a hint of a scratch. All surfaces are as smooth as a babies booty. The reverse has all letters very sharp . Not a mark on the O of one cent (almost always seen on 50's Lincoln cents)

Great looking coin. I join the MS67-RD crowd.

Is that a subtle die crack just off the E in WE? What's that little 'noogie' above Abe's ear, not far from the top of Abe's head?

Very very nice looking Lincoln Cent. I'm going out on a limb and saying PCGS got the grade wrong. (I know the reveal hasn't even happened yet.) I'm thinking this came back as an MS66. (Should be an MS67 from the images but that's where the money starts and those don't go to just anyone!)

I guess we all missed this one. All I can say for sure is the coin is exactly as you see it in pictures. No special angles or doctored photos. For PCGS to go straight to a MS-64 , they must have felt that it wasn't a complete strike. The 1954-s is known for a very poor strike. Should I take my lick since almighty PCGS has spoken. It's ashamed because it's the cleanest coin I have seen so far. I will read what you guys have to say on the subject.

Wow! That hurts! That coin is so clean! Ms65/ms66 would be acceptable but 64?! That is a huge deduction on the strike quality. I can see now that Abe is very clean shaven but come on!
Lack of detail vs spotless? Tough call.
I will say that I have seen PCGS grade MS 66 coins that have very strong strikes with three noticeable hits in the devices. I guess they prefer strong detail over gorgeous surfaces.
