I found this coin a while back. It's clearly been dipped in something, but it is also under weight, which I thought was kind odd. It doesn't appear to be very circulated and it's only a tenth of a gram underweight, but I would think dipping it would add to the weight.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It would be within spec even without the coating.
