Good evening! New here! And by the name I am sure have guessed I am still new to the coin collecting thing.

I was looking through a roll of quarters and came across this. First time, I have seen it so I was hoping to get a second opinion and see if my eyes were just having fun messing with me.

It looks like doubling on the mint mark, possible part of the word america,America, quarter dollar.

Does anyone have any insight on this. I would be very grateful. Thank you in advance!

. Looks like maybe DDD=die deterioration doubling. Looks like you are posting photos of your scopes monitor screen, if so, not a good idea. Use a memory card in your scope.

Would DDD do that to the mint mark? It looks like its tilted and over the top of each other. The other letters I mentioned I could see what you mean by possible DDD after I looked up some examples but I couldn't find any with the mintmark like that so I wanted to ask.

Not silly at all, it means re-punched mint mark.

Also when you see words in blue, click on these and you will learn more information on those subjects. Often lots of image examples to look at.
