CCF - I'm looking at an ebay listing for a 1956 proof set with a TDO Nickel. I'm not familiar with the TDO designation. Can someone enlighten me?

Tripled Die Obverse? Of course you'd need a close look at that coin. Anybody can write anything on a holder.

Unless Variety Vista or Wexler has a listing for a tripled obverse die the only one I'm aware of is the FS-102 DDO.

I would message the seller, though he may not know what it means himself.

Yep, went to VV first. Wexler forwards to BriansVariety. Looks like some class II and class VI doubling, and a flat top T vaiety in '56 proofs but nothing I can understand as a TDO.
