question does all the 1969 proof like sets. do they all have that rose on Lincoln coat. why would they do that. does the 1969 Lincoln Penny commemorate some thing on that date. why else would that rose be there. like to know why please and thank you. actually it looks kind of ugly. see for yourself.
john its pressed on actually . I am sorry for asking this question I see its on more of the coins in the set. darn that makes them nice coins look terrible. why would they do that here is another image. yes there all the same
It is a spotting on the coin surface, I'm sure it wasn't intentional. Maybe it was in a moisture rich environment for a while - the sets are not air tight
well that item is raised. so that was in-cursed into the die. are you guys sure this is not one of those metal test points. where the mint uses these to measure the hardness of these coins. because I have read some on those marks. the pictures I seen they did not appear like these. they looked like a spare bead. I know you will not find very many of those. I forget the coin count. any way here is another image closer. this is as far as I can get.
why didnt the mint paint that. well these are still in there hard case. so the mint had to put these on well you see the die marks anyways. what is this is the question.
@Rocky, I do not pronounce yet. Please show as a picture of all set with the marks, and if possible angle photo to see the raise. sure for me San proof sets material test was not this in that time.
