Obverse AU-50, reverse very close to AU-50, net AU-50. Old cleaning, IMHO market acceptable. The contact marks are spot on the for grade, and none of them are cause for concern. The rims are sharp. Strong strike and even wear. There's a fairly eye pleasing circulation cameo. Your purchase price is spot on for the grade.

I've handled several 1840 dollars, and this one has better eye appeal than most of them. A lot of them look like they were used for skeet shooting. Just my personal view of the coin, but I like it. I'm a sucker for a sharp strike and in-hand eye appeal. At that price, I'd call it a keeper. Others may see it differently.

I'm staying at AU Details, cleaned. Still a sharp coin.

Very nice coin, don't worry about the haters, they are jealous

i agree with my original grade of AU50 but it does look like an old cleaning although acceptable
