Good to know they are showing up in different places, hopefully gives everyone a chance to get some before they get too damaged.

Hi there friends down under!
Would any of you please post a pic of one of the new dollars? I've never seen a new and shiny one, and my $1 and $2s are all brown and tarnished.

David, missed your post. What dollar coins do you have? I am sure I could find a nice shiny one for you you don't have. I think I still have your address somewhere.

as in.... Presidential dollars? or AUD dollars? I know I have a lot of Jefferson D and Madison Ps... but anything else I would have to ask the bank.

I meant Aussie dollars, sorry. And I don't have your address, must have been 'cleaned' by the good lady wife. Send me a PM and I will send you some nice Aussie dollars.

wd1040, the new dollar coins that get released in Australia does look similar to those President dollar coins over in the US. I am not too sure how tarnished US dollar coins look like but I'm sure they will end up something similar.
Back to the topic, I pulled a really awful 2009 2 dollar coin from a Chinese restaurant in Sydney. Funny how I pulled a few nice UNC 2008 1 dollar coins in Canberra a few days ago.

Someone somewhere posted about finding a 2009 20¢ $1 Mob of Roos, but I can't remember who or where.

A collector from WA has found two rolls of 2009 $1.00 coins from a store in those parts. I have not seen one in Brissy yet, but then I don't noodle as much as I used to(time restrictions). Keep your eyes peeled for them folks.

G'day, this is the first post on this thread since April. And please bear in mind that I do my coin-collecting in Darwin. I got my first 2009 coin in change on the weekend: $2. And that's it so far: one only $2; and no other denominations. Also, I haven't seen any 2009 notes. Peter Temp: 27.5°C Wind: NE at 11.2km/h Pressure: 1014.5hPa, at 10.00am.

Exactly the same here Peter. All I have seen so far is $2 coins, and only 3 for the whole year. Same for the notes, none yet.
