I found this dime, not in the best shape, but was wondering if " In Cod We Trust" is a typical error? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

Guessing this is just due to circulation damage.

Sometimes die polishing also removes part of the design on that area:

The "w" is part of the designer's initials. Any mintmark, D or S, would be on the reverse.

It's not a W dime, it's a monogram.
The Cod is caused by damage or wear.
