From the color, this looks like a contemporary forgery made of brass, which would originally have been coated with a thin layer of silver.

Agreed that it's likely a contemporary forgery - maybe ask in the UK section as I think there's at least one person there who specialises in them.

Definitely a fake. All you have to do is look at the date.
