Shipping Gold 8 Escudos Coin To Cayman Islands - How To Insure?

So I have a buyer that would like me to sell him a 1793 Colombia 8 Escudos gold coin. He is located in the Cayman islands and only wants the coin shipped FedEx. I don't typically use FedEx, DHL or UPS for precious metals because I know they will not pay on an insurance claim should the coins be lost/stolen/damaged/ect. Is there any kind of third party insurance option available? Any insight would be most appreciated, thanks in advance! Report this Post to the Staff

Slider23 Pillar of the Community United States 4471 Posts	Posted 05/31/2022 10:49 am Here are a couple of companies that you might want to check out for international shipping of coins. shipandinsure.com - They handle domestic and international shipping insurance of coins. I have read that some US coin dealers will use this company to insure all domestic shipping of coins vs paying shipping carriers. A membership may be required. Hugh Wood - They are an international insurance company. A large and most likely the best domestic insurer of coins, but an ANA membership is required. I ship USPS priority + registered mail if domestic and high end/valuable. In fact, I just recently sold a 1 Kilo Tiffany Art .999 silver 2016 Palau Amar Sagar coin/round for $7650. The cost to ship + insure with registered mail was ~$50 total. Oh and for anyone else who might stumble across this discussion, I have messaged another third party insurer, Shipsaver.com.
