Happy to say I have seen the monument in person - very thought provoking to stand before the seated Lincoln and think about all of the history involved. I also was able to stand on the very spot on the steps where Martin Luther King gave his "I Have a Dream" speech in 1963.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I visited around four years ago. The quotes from Lincoln in the memorial were quite the contrast to what we hear from most current politicians.
