Look at the 2's. A curvy 2 is small date, and a straight 2 is large date.

Location the '2' is different on the small date and the large dates:
1982-Small-Date-Or-Large-Date-?-4-Different-Coins-A.b.c.d
Also the motto devices are different sizes:
1982-Small-Date-Or-Large-Date-?-4-Different-Coins-A.b.c.d

I find the quickest way to tell is by looking at the gap between the 2 and the rim. If is looks big enough to put an additional digit in the space, then you have a Small Date.

If it's too close, like these, then it's a Large Date.
