I have a 2009 D penny that is 3.1 grams and it also has the memorial reverse from the 2008 penny

Could be one of two things without showing us pictures...

One, it could be a post mint operation where somebody vised together two different cents, or...

Two, it could be a legit mule of a 2009 obverse with a memorial reverse in which you would have a monumental find and discovery.

I find it much more likely to be option one ...
