The thickness of the letters looks to be evenly distributed and not distorted as a class VI would be. The anomaly on the R of Liberty is a known hub related issue. One of the hubs that year produced dies that struck coins with a "broken " leg. The big three dd's for 1936 were produced from a combination of that broken leg hub and a normal hub being used to produce each of the three dies. Report this Post to the Staff
