@yd, the '43 cents that are super-shiny tend to have been aftermarket plated. I'm interested to see if that is what others think happened to this one.

@Spence is right. I see the coated rusty surface under strong light. It is definitely reprocessed.

Then it's reprocessed, or in simpler terms, plated. A genuine uncirculated 1943 cent would have a soft, darker matte edge at best. Value here, as plated, is pretty much just face.

Plating = Post mint damage. Value, 3 cents (the wholesale value of wheaties).
