4Queens, to get closure on this you are the one who said you have a slab from NGC, it would be nice to see it. This is not an attack on you in any way it is just for clarity.

The OP's coin was clearly damaged after the strike. The comparison specimens are examples of pre-strike planchet damage.

But does anybody else think that the 2005 ngc holder look like there is something added on to the surface, instead of no plating? Can ngc be wrong? I have cents with plating problems, none are that silvery shiny. More like gorhams. Back to the original post. This is unmistakable ground down. It might have started out at 2.6. You can grind a lot off of 2.6 before you see any weight loss.

I think at NGC who give those attribution was drunk. Obviously we can see the material add and also no zinc color. Just the fact to be over weight is clear. Other think it is the Zinc planchet is impossible to has those forms I see here after rolling.

@4Qeens: Can you tell me who it is that person who know more then as? In general I know almost big specialists, and if tell me about your original coin posted it is plating default I will talk with him or her long time before I will be OK with this conclusion.
