Quote:Does sending 2023 Peace dollar to NGC or PCGS to get a PR-70 designation make any economical sense. Thanks for feedback No. With 400,000 mintage, the proofs, regardles of grade, will not have a significant value above their purchase price from the mint. Guessing they'll top out at around $100.

Available count: Morgan - 70211 Peace - 76769
Think the big dealers are sending them back?

Maybe the Mint overreacted to the 2021 problems and had too high a mintage limit for the 2023s. Final mintage may be less than 350K. I plan on sending my Peace back due to obverse pit, I have seven days from delivery. The Morgan comes today, I want to see what it looks like before sending Peace back.

Guessing they'll top out at around $100. a search on ebay finds PCGS Morgans selling $110 and up for PR69 and $145 and up for PR70. Peace dollars are similar pricing. Looking mostly at bigger dealers on ebay like Pinehurst and APMEX. Seems to be a lot of sets (one morgan and one peace) being sold. My Morgans and Peace dollars are scheduled for delivery today. Hope they're as nice as the ones pictured here.

My Peace dollars just got here. One of them is perfect. The other one is not. I don't know what this green stuff is, but it isn't worth cracking it open to find out. Returning this one.

I received my order today. Something I learned was that the enrolment allowed me to not pay shipping, even being in Canada!

Got my Morgan today. Like my Peace it has a pit on the coin in the field. Morgan pit is under the chin. Some may think I am too picky, but a brand new coin should not have any visible imperfections without a magnifier IMO. Plan to send it back. After I get the reverse proofs I'm canceling my subscriptions.

Quote: After I get the reverse proofs I'm canceling my subscriptions I think you are not alone in that plan. I won't be keeping my subscriptions after the RPs show up - that was my plan all along. With the excessively high mintages and ever-rising prices, we may well be able to get these at a reduced price down the line sometime. Glad to have the first Proof and RPs in the new series, though.

Just tried to start a return in my order history. It did not work, it said "We're unable to process your return items at this time. Please contact customer service for more information." I'll try to call tomorrow.

I just used the return slip and label that came with the coins to send it back. I have never returned anything to the Mint before, so hopefully I did it right. I did have to pay to ship back though, which isn't fun
