Been wanting a proof gold buffalo for a while. It's a first year 2006, was by far the most mintage, 246,267 and among the years with less premium compared to recent years. I like it. But I think I like my 2013 reverse proof a little better.

Future value with proof premium should be in line with gold value trends.

I acquired my first gold coin decades ago, and have acquired many more over the intervening period.
Nevertheless, gold has lost most of it's aura for me since my first acquisition, because
gold, reality, is no more than just another metal from which coins can be made.

I'd love to have more gold than I do, and if I were out to add more, it would be the buffalo for me, too. I only have the reverse as well, I also have the reverse good eagle, that 3 coin set. Really pricey.

The 2023 Gold Buff is still available from the mint for $2940.00 - and on ebay the same coin is going for about $2200.00 to $2700.00 and the MS versions for about $2100.00
