Given the images posted, I'm not seeing a D mint mark. Pareidolia is a curious beast.

@ker, while there is quite a bit of circulation wear on this dime, there is still plenty of remaining detail. Therefore, if there was a mintmark, we would definitely expect to see it clearly on your coin. For sure some details might not be fully struck up, but as a general rule, the wear should be roughly the same across all design elements.

First,  I see what caught your eye. What you see is circled in red on the photo below. It's too low to be a mm. The location of the mm on a 1916-D is above that, roughly where I added a crudely drawn blue box.
