I am late to the discussion I apologize, but I agree that this is very likely a counterfeit Ike.

I cannot see any reason for someone to nickel plate a legitimate silver coin. It would only reduce its value. However, anything is possible.

Counterfeit or plated, the end result is the same. This is not an Ike you should want in your main collection.

It's ok Mr.Jbuck.
I've just post my 'most silly' theory.

By the way, is this peg leg Ike Mr.Jbuck? Still wish this Ike is genuine.

@JTCC, with all my respect. If it was Pareidolia, the pattern of the eagle beak and the neck lines will not connect with other area. Please see the last image i,ve posted above.

The other area is the olive's leaf part and the eagle's claw.

About why is attracted to magnet.
I just want to confirm about this youtube channels, This gentlemen, showing he test walking liberty dollar, barber using magnet.

Solo, in some cases the Ni, Cu stick to magnet. the Au (gold) and Si (silver) also can stick to magnets according to theirs alloy composition. Silver and Gold attract by the magnet is use more in goldsmith production. Example: Blue Gold is Gold and Iron alloy so will stick to magnet. Same with silver with Iron alloy use main for table wares, will stick with magnets. In theory all metals could stick with magnets. In fact the electromagnetic field EMF is present everywhere in this planet. Other example: An 10 feet vertical 1mm Cu wire which is not de-oxygenate at the bottom will give you 2 to 5 V electricity due to EMF.

PS.: In the case of IKE production, well documented, was use pure? (99.99%) silver and cooper who come direct from an US mine. So the IKE must not stick. this it is the case of Silver. The Ni clad use pure Ni from an Canadian mine, so no alteration on alloy. Was use Canadian mine because that mine has the nickel and cooper together, so easy to perform the clad. Hope help.

Thank you for your patience sir.
By the way, most of my coins I bought on ebay store sir, altough I know it will cost the shipping and add the import taxes.

There's also some coins I bought in local store.

Many thank's for all comments and for transfering all the knowledge. To: jbuck, Spence, silviosi, coop, Dearborn, JTCC, merclover, CentSation, cladboy, Coinfrog, nss-52.

Oftentimes the journey is still worthwhile when the destination is not exactly where we wanted it to be.

@ SOLO:

You do not have to apologize for nothing. You do IMHO a great job and also here we learn a lot. You put a lot of effort and patience and also logistic. Congrats !

You learn and us also. This it is this hobby and our community.

Now: By the XRF results I can tel you was done in your country by, according with my sources. I do not know where they are but the work is similar with the group from Shanghai which was dissemble by the authorities there and others fleet in your country. Same pattern, same flows of coins. I know is sad for the reputation of your flag, but it is what it is.

If you go ahead like this, very soon you will be a big expert there. And I wish this for you.

Best wish, Silvio
