So I found this penny in some pocket change. I don't know why but it just looks a little strange to me. Almost like Lincoln is kind of furry and other parts of his face or something. There are some letters missing on the obverse side. Am I missing something here or is it just a penny worth a penny? Thanks to all!

the front or 'Heads' side of a coin is the Obverse side of a coin and the side showing the Memorial is called the 'Reverse' side.
So! on the obverse side, the furry lines you see are called 'Rolling lines' (you can also see them on the reverse side too)
On the Reverse side the devices (the letters) at the top are not struck well because on the design of the bust on the Obverse side taking up too much of the copper material to form, thus not leaving enough material to fill the gaps in the reverse die.

@die, the lightness of strike for parts of the reverse inscription, especially around TES of STATES is pretty common on modern cents. This region of the coin is directly opposite to Abe's shoulder and when the coin is struck, it seems as though the metal tends to flow such that it fills out this region rather than those letters.

Yes, obverse shows classic zinc core Memorial cent characteristics/anomalies. Reverse shows the not-uncommon 'shallow' fill of metal opposite Abe's shoulder. Worth one full cent.

The shorter sized devices are probably just slight Grease Fill on those devices. The incuse marks are contact marks and some slight Machine Doubling. Pretty much an educational piece and a spender.

Dearborn and Spence. Just a weak spot on all the Lincoln series
