Again, But I'll try to make my point again. For those of you who aren't amateur, layman or ill-informed: POLITELY inform those of us who need to be informed.

I have to agree with this. It's the tone of those doing the correcting that is bothersome as I have mentioned before. When I was new to collecting and would go into coin shops to learn more, that's the same treatment some grizzled coin shop owners would give people anxious and wanting to learn about the hobby. To me, it's kind of disgusting when I see other forum members act this way (condascending tone, arrogant) towards others who are in the early stages of the hobby.

With that said, I still feel that penny or cent is acceptable depending on who you are talking to. I dont think there is any confusion when someone uses "cent" instead of "penny" or vice versa because both terms are used interchangeably in a widespread manner. If I am at a coin shop or coin show, and I hear someone say "penny" is it my responsibility to correct them and tell them they should say "cent" when all parties involved know what the person is talking about? Honestly, at the end of the day, I think it's a trivial matter. I know some wont agree, but personally I dont want to be "that guy" going around and correcting people who are using the word "penny".

(Ok I am done with my rant...lol)
