Was going through several tubes of 1935 D wheat cents and came across this example. The photos were hastily taken using my phone camera--not my better set up. The feature on the reverse hints at being a Retained Cud, vs a pre Cud. Circulation wear has smoothed the edges. Anyway, I'm sure there could be some debate. Just having fun on a Wednesday afternoon.

I'd say a nice looking pre-cud and it doesn't appear listed at CudsonCoins.

I agree it is a pre-cud.

Yup no doubt about that as a precud. You can send photos (matching the exact standards they ask for) to Cuds on coins and I think they will eventually list it.

I still prefer the older term. "Retained Cud." Meaning the affected area is still retained to the die, thus the term Retained Cud. I hasn't broken off the die yet. Looks like this one is almost in the VLDS range. So I wonder it this one ever reached a Cud before die retirement?
