The Colorado Centennial - Bicentennial Commission (CCBC) sold three medal "archive sets" of a dual-dated commemorative in 1976. The Archive Set was produced in a limited quantity of 1,876. These were the first medals ever to bear the Denver mint mark and included bronze, silver, and gold-plated bronze examples: The obverse was designed by Sue C. Hughey, whose winning submittal was chosen in March, 1972, out of 112 participants. She received a $500 prize for her efforts.** Engraver was Edgar Zell Steever; other Steever works include the obverse of the 1999 Yellowstone Commem Dollar and the reverse of the 2000 Virginia State Quarter. Hughey and Steever's initials are included in the design along with USM Chief Engraver Frank Gasparro's. Gasparro oversaw the design and engraving process. As reported by The Rocky Mountain News on Feb. 10, 1976, Randy S. Moyle designed the CCBC logo. Mr. Moyle, of Denver, received a $500 first prize for his design submission (out of 291 entries) in the "Centennial Emblem Design Contest" judging conducted July 21, 1972 ** and seen on the medal's reverse. Mintages: Bronze- 46,000, of which 5,000 were plated with 24-karat gold; Silver - 20,200. Gold -100 Gold (.900 fine) medals were struck at Denver on November 9, 1976, from specially prepared blanks cotaining 90% gold, 6% silver and 4% copper. They were presented in walnut cases with COA to individudals and groups who donated $500 or more to the CCBC. ** From: "Once in a Hundred: The Final Report of the Colorado Centennial-Bicentennial Commission", 1977.

Thanks, y'all. Back in the first half of the 2010s I picked up a couple of them in Mint Cellos. Forget what I paid. I thought I was rich, then, and was buying a lot of stuff. What a rude awakening I was in for a few years later, LOL.
