I have in my collection a 1964 LC that is stumping me. Beautifully struck, but there is a line/crack/something going on around the date. It should also be noted that the rim of this coin is "thick". Posting pics, comments welcome.

This cent is actually a proof cent, which explains for the wide rim.
Not positive on what the line is using current images, could better images be provided?

It is a proof. Need better close up of the line. I do not think it is a LAM.

This it is a proof strike. The line seem to be like discoloration of the material Similar with liquid drops on cooper coins.

I agree a much in close image of the area is important to evaluate this. Not the same image just enlarged but a zoomed in image (nice and clear, please)

Could be a thread or lint on the coin? If you could get it under a scope, if it is incuse, then it is a struck through. If it is raised, then it would be a die crack, which I doubt. These dies are only used to strike 3K coins, meaning the total of 6K strikes per die. Thus they rarely show a die crack.
