Wrekkdd Pillar of the Community Canada 3328 Posts	Posted 08/06/2022 08:40 am A broad struck is a coin struck without the collar ingaged, when this happens you end up with a coin larger then it should be and with no collar you end up with no run or reeded edge(on reeded coins) this is just a well circulated 5 cent, not seeing an error and definately not a broad struck. It's much larger than normal and the rims are missing, for the most part. The distortion seen on the lettering is due to the metal of the plachet being pushed towards the outside of the coin.
