Were all of these coins pressed off-center? On both of mine the thickness of the edge rim on the obverse side varies by a factor of perhaps three depending where on the rim you look, the thinest part of the rim being between Y and the tail of the horse, and the opposing side's rim is the thickest. The rim on the reverse side of the coin looks more even, but not perfect.

From browsing Youtube videos, that seems to be the biggest complaint of the medal is many seem to be off center when they were struck.

Mine seems perfectly fine.  Now, the silver medal in my 2015 LBJ C&C set is a bit off. It bugged me for a while before I decided to accept it.  |

Is the video about the American Liberty medal or his viewpoint on politics and the meaning of liberty lol. I would hate to be the recipient of that medal after he handles the cat, handles the medal, and sends it back to the mint. Do people really handle proof coins that way and still consider them proof quality?

I passed on this coin, but later changed my mind. Been looking at them on ebay. Noticed today they are on backorder. I ordered one. I've never backordered from the Mint before. Expected in stock Oct. 10, I wonder if I'll get a returned one that may have some damage? Edited by livingwater

I hope not. I considered returning my off-center one, but decided to hang on. It is beautiful other than that.

There are still 21000+ available for back-order, it said Oct 10.

I think it was 46k was what was released on opening day, so this may be what's left.
I'm sure the dealers aren't happy seeing this.

It seems they don't strike the full limit when a coin is first released or they could be stuck with thousands unsold. When a coin goes to remind me status I should not assume they've sold out.

Since yesterday, data-avail has climbed from 21K to 23.5K, weird.

I just ordered mine. Thought I was going to be shut out since I missed the original order window a couple weeks back, but it seems I'll survive this one. Although It saiys on the order page that mine won't ship until early Oct. Whatever, don't care. Just happy to be able to add this one whenever it arrives.
