I received my Morgan "D" and "S" both are BEAUTIFUL coins. Was wanting opinions if I should leave in original wrapping and state or send off to NGC to be graded. Thus obviously having to join a membership and spend MORE $$ for the grading and encapsulation. I've NEVER sent anything to be graded before and Sm wondering how trustworthy are these companies? They obviously have friends/relatives/associates in the business and who's to say that if I send in a MS-70 that they won't switch it for a MS-69 and give/sell mine to one of their associates. Last question, I ordered the Morgan D-S and P Singularly, and will be receiving Two Peace dollars. If anyone is willing to trade for one of my peace for either a Morgan "CC" or "O" I'm up for it. I tried to get the o/cc but system wouldn't take. Even if willing to trade what would we do to make arrangements for the swap? Thanks in advance for any advice. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

I can't see one of the TPGs scamming you like that. I have never sent anything to a third party grade but unless you think that it has a 69 or a 70 it is not worth it here.

The TPGs do not buy or sell coins. If you are seriously concerned your coins will be replaced by lesser coins, do not even think about sending them in. You'll go crazy wondering what they are doing while you coin waits a month or two to be graded.

we are seeing lots, of mint coins arrive, damaged. Prices are already coming down, so if you were planning on grading and flipping, I wouldn't.

Make sure to take a picture of yours before sending. We have some bad stories on this forum of coins being damaged when returned. It does not happen often, but if does.

Well then Silverwolf, with that logic if many are arriving damaged that's only going to make the MS-69/70's MORE valuable not less. All the more reason to have good ones graded.

Quote: All the more reason to have good ones graded. All the pre sales have made the good money. Quote: if I should leave in original wrapping I thought you hadn't opened the boxs, yet, and were going to send in for grading, without checking the coins for defects first. edited for typo.

Well I can tell you right now that they are watched from the minute they get the box until it is packaged up for a return to the owner. I sent off a coin (the V75 privy ASE) to PCGS. I wanted the Cert of Auth encapsulated. But the Mint apparently didn't include it with my coin. PCGS called me and told me about that problem. They explained that they went though all the cam footage, footage that included the actual opening of my package and the searching for it all around the area. Never to be found. The out-take of my story, is that I trust PCGS to do the right thing all the time. To the very best of their ability.
