Hello,
This here is the coin that got me into the search of coin errors and such.
I do have a lot to learn but very curious as to if this is a true error coin I have. From what, I have researched this could be a Cud error or is it just damaged? Please help me out and teach me.

These are the best photos, I could get but if I need to upload more please let me know and I will do my best.

Thank you!
Macsrus04

That's very bad damage . This is what a Cud looks like , notice no damage to the coin .

I'm no expert, but it looks like PMD to me.

Looks like solder, like maybe someone made a pin/tie tack out of it?

Well, can't say I'm not disappointed but I had a feeling it was damage from possible solder. Thanks for confirming!

Looks to me like someone melted some silver solder on it. Just damage (but possibly a tiny bit of bonus silver?)

If solder, it should be over weight.

Weights in grams. (Don't forget to use the tare button, to adjust the scale before use)

Well coop, now you have me even more interested because this one weighed in at 2.49g. Now, what?

Between the weight added and the circulation wear, the weight could be different. But there is also a tolerance listing for dimes of +=- .09 grams. (4 item on the tolerance lines) So this is was altered post strike. It is not a mint error, but an altered coin.
