kycoalminer New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 09/05/2022 7:46 pm So I am very confused about the different weights between copper vs. copper plated zinc. Large date small date yrs. and weights. I was also wondering if all Lincoln cents from the begining date up until 1992? Are they all suppose to have wide a.m.? If I think that I have got a 1982 no mint mark small date with close a.m.! halfamind Pillar of the Community United States 1498 Posts	Posted 09/05/2022 9:17 pm 1982 was the transitional year from copper to copper-plated zinc. The copper alloy will weigh around 3.1 grams, compared to 2.5 grams for zinc. There are 7 different types of cent for 1982: a mix of P & D, large & small date, and copper & zinc — all but 1982-D Small Date Copper, of which a couple were struck by mistake.
