This is just a head's up, I think that one of the lots in Spink's auction CSS82A contains a counterfeit banknote. The lot I am talking about specifically is lot 424. In this lot, Spink advertises the notes as coming from the East Hubei Soviet collective. All were made in 1931 by the Chinese soviets during their guerilla war days. The only banknote I can confidently speak on is the banknote in the bottom left hand corner, the one featuring a crude portrait of Karl Marx.

Here is a link to a Chinese auction house that sold an authentic piece last year for over $20,000. These are what I presume to be what the real issues would look like.

http://www.yangmingauction.com/good...=954&page=32This is just a heads up for anyone here who might be interested in purchasing this note. From my research, I don't think this note is the real thing. The real notes are extremely rare and generally come up in super deteriorated conditions. A note printed on low quality paper intended for use in a peasant economy that often experiences rain and humidity would most likely still not have sharp corners.
This is just my opinion, but I'd avoid this lot.
