@snoo, I agree not an actual coin, but I'm moving this thread over to the ancients subforum so that hopefully we can figure out what it is trying to be.
It looks like both sides are almost exactly the same. Can you confirm? Thx.

Well, first please just chill out a little bit. I may take hours or even a couple days for folks to weigh in on what they are seeing.
Also, it could be helpful if you could add the diameter and weight of this piece. Thx.

This is not a coin

Well I think the poster wants to know what it is loosely based on. Assuming this is a tourist item, there seems to be a hint of a dolphin in the correct position on the right for this to be loosely based on Syracuse from the decadrachm. The nymph with an earring, and the curves where you expect to see a dolphin. Is that the kind of answer you are requesting from us? In fact I do see the hints of all three dolphins in the positions from the actual coin below. (3,6, and 9 O'clock.) https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=4293813

Agree. It is not a genuine coin, either ancient or modern. And agree that the design is loosely based on the Arethusa-and-dolphins design found on the tetradrachms and decadrachms of Syracuse.

A genuine coin should not have the same image on both sides. Likely an ancient or modern counterfeit. Many coins are recently made to look ancient to sell to tourists in the Middle East, some were made and sold at museum shops, some are made to deceive, fakes sold as genuine, etc. You could take it to a local coin store that has a metal analyzer to see if it's at least silver or not. If it's not silver you know for sure it's fake.
