I read this variety is known on the 1983P quarter, but this 1997 P quarter sure looks like this Eagle is spitting a spitball.

Please tell me what you think.

Possible start of a crack. The incuse mark is damage to the coin. If it were a Die clash mark, it would not be straight:
Spitting-Eagle-1997-P-Quarter-?
Your coin would be a die event and a coin damage issue. (spender) Not the same thing.
