@dma, can you please add a couple overall pics of this coin to this thread? That will help us to help you. Thx.

I have photos of the 1922-D Lincoln error but for some reason they will not load. They are saved as PDF files.

Something seems off with this cent. Is it real?

Can you take this coin out of the 2x2 and compare the thickness of it to a 'normal' cent (hopefully of the same year/mint - but something close could work.) I wonder if this coin is thinner than normal, also what is the weight of it? it should weigh in at 3.11 grams.

Weight? Diameter? Looks fake but wait for the pros to chime in. John1

This looks almost too good to be true... Could have been a very high grade in a former bezel? Might be a Chinese knock-off also...

The coin weighs 3.1 grams. The coin is 1900mm in diameter and the width is 1.5mm thick. The size and weight is exactly the same as any other 1922 Lincoln Cent it is compared to. The coin is positively genuine and not a fake or reproduction. It is an error coin. The sharpest experts in the country would tell you the same but most of them are not error experts. It is not a doubt or question of if the coin is genuine. I am only trying to find out if there is a variety number for a coin of this date or if any other collector or dealer has seen or know of one. I have seen a 1942 variety Lincoln with a Jumbo Rim but not with the same characteristics. You can find it on the internet to at least educate yourself and understand more. I have already done that but have not found a variety number to refer it to. I have collected coins for over 50 years and was good friends with the late Grover Criswell, past president of the ANACS.

You may be convinced this cent is real, but I for one am not. If it started its life as genuine, somehow it has been altered. I may be wrong, but this cent has been damaged post mint. no mint errors here, sorry.
