Lots of good looking people here.
Now let's see if I can seriously reduct the "BQ" (Beauty Quotient) with my old face. Taken about two years ago. I haven't changed much since then ...

OK, you asked for it, you got it. Eeeewwwwww. Me 20 years ago for an Official Army portrait taken in 1986 at Ft. Drum, NY. I dug deep into my storage shed and unburied this, finally got my scanner working (needed an HP upgrade for my upgraded operating system), but I'm not sure this pic is worth it. It's been through a tornedo, a couple hurricanes (including Katrina), a near accident in Louisiana, and a few floods, so it's a little worse for wear - this used to be in color. Too many years and too many pounds ago. That's a Sixth Army patch on my left sleeve; I didn't get around to changing it to an upstate NY unit for another four years. Got another Army pic, but I gotta clean off the cobwebs and mouse thingies before I can scan it.

I go by my middle name, but the Army and IRS doesn't recognize middle names. Also, I deleted my SSN for non-social security purposes.

Hi Jim--

No, all my Reserve tours were with Army Reserve units (as opposed to National Guard) or with Regular Army units. I enjoyed Ft. Drum since all my tours up there were in winter. I got a perverse pleasure of seeing all the southern troops look aghast with disbelief at the ten feet of snow ! Some of the younger soldiers had never seen snow before and, after Ft. Drum, never wanted to see snow again !

Ironically I did also, considering I am from the Snowbelt of Erie, Pa. snow was just a normal think even 10 feet of it. LOL. I live in NC now but I am Yankee all the way. LOL..

Yeah, I was STRAC back then although I had to trim my moustache more than I wanted (shaved it off completely for RVN - too hot!). And I always had to watch my weight which, after the Army kicked me out in 92 soared since I was not REQUIRED to keep it down .

I wouldn't mind going back into the Army for a couple years, especially at an O-5 pay grade ($$$$$$), but the Army isn't taking old men with broken backs and arthritis and especially doesn't have room for old Lieutenant Colonels - cost too much. I checked with ARPERCEN's site last year out of curiosity and while there are some slots overseas (guess where?) for Company Grade and lower Field Grade (Major) officers to come out of retirement or whatever, they're after Intelligence, MP, and Civil Affairs officers, not Signal (and certainly not Infantry). I couldn't even resign my commission and revert back to my permanent Enlisted grade of E-5 since their demand is for E-7 and above Enlisted Signal types. Maybe I could enlist as an E-1...

Gosh, if I'd known it would work like that, I would have told everyone how great they look! I may have to start a thread simply so I can flatter people and make them part with their coins!
