Hello. I Am New To Collecting, And Curious About A 1962 D Dime

hewart Valued Member United States 157 Posts	Posted 11/22/2022 4:54 pm Looks like circulation damage to me. I call it a strike. There are a ton of things that can strike a coin after the mint process. They produce a lot of different patterns. Even when they are stored in bags at the mint, the outer edge of the coins can produce a pattern on other coins it comes in contact with. as old as that dime is, it's not likely you will find out what caused that damage.
